Information automatically collected

1A. INSTAGRAM API DATA PROCESSING

Instagram Platform Data Processing

LanzaDM integrates with Meta's Instagram Platform APIs to provide automated comment-to-direct message services. This section explains how we handle data from Instagram in compliance with Meta's Platform Terms.

Instagram Data We Access

Through Instagram's API, we access the following data from your Instagram account:

  • Basic Profile Information: Username, profile picture, account type (business/creator), follower count
  • Comment Data: Comments on your Instagram posts (processed in real-time for keyword triggers)
  • Direct Messaging Capabilities: Permission to send direct messages from your account
  • Account Insights: Basic engagement metrics and account performance data

Instagram Data We Do NOT Store

We do not store or retain:

  • The content of Instagram comments
  • The content of direct messages sent or received
  • Personal information of Instagram users who interact with your account
  • Instagram user contact information, email addresses, or profile details
  • Instagram user follower lists or social connections

How We Process Instagram Data

  • Real-time Processing: Comment content is analyzed in real-time for keyword triggers but not stored
  • Automated Responses: Direct messages are sent automatically based on your configured templates
  • Account Management: Profile information is used to maintain your account connection
  • Analytics: Engagement data is processed to provide service performance insights

Legal Basis for Instagram Data Processing

Our legal basis for processing Instagram data:

  • Consent: You explicitly consent to Instagram data processing when connecting your account
  • Contract Performance: Processing is necessary to provide our automated services
  • Legitimate Interests: Analytics processing to improve service quality and performance

Instagram Data Sharing

We may share Instagram data only in the following circumstances:

  • With Meta: As required by Meta's Platform Terms for API compliance

  • Instagram API access tokens will be immediately revoked
  • Analytics data will be anonymized or deleted
  • System logs will be purged according to our retention schedule

  • You can contact the account owner directly about automated messages
  • You can report inappropriate automated messages through Instagram's reporting system

6. DO WE USE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING TECHNOLOGIES?

We may use cookies and similar tracking technologies (like web beacons and pixels) to gather information when you interact with our Services. Some online tracking technologies help us maintain the security of our Services and your account , prevent crashes, fix bugs, save your preferences, and assist with basic site functions.

7. HOW DO WE HANDLE YOUR SOCIAL LOGINS?

In Short: If you choose to register or log in to our Services using a social media account, we may have access to certain information about you.

Our Services offer you the ability to register and log in using your third-party social media account details (like your Facebook or X logins). Where you choose to do this, we will receive certain profile information about you from your social media provider. The profile information we receive may vary depending on the social media provider concerned, but will often include your name, email address, friends list, and profile picture, as well as other information you choose to make public on such a social media platform.

We will use the information we receive only for the purposes that are described in this Privacy Notice or that are otherwise made clear to you on the relevant Services. Please note that we do not control, and are not responsible for, other uses of your personal information by your third-party social media provider. 8. HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION?

In Short: We keep your information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Notice unless otherwise required by law.

We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law (such as tax, accounting, or other legal requirements). No purpose in this notice will require us keeping your personal information for longer than the period of time in which users have an account with us .

When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information, or, if this is not possible (for example, because your personal information has been stored in backup archives), then we will securely store your personal information and isolate it from any further processing until deletion is possible.

Before connecting your Instagram account, you must provide explicit consent for:

Permission Scopes

When you connect your Instagram account, you grant us the following permissions:

  • instagram_basic: Access to basic profile information
  • instagram_content_publish: Permission to publish content (future feature)
  • instagram_manage_comments: Access to read and manage comments
  • instagram_manage_messages: Permission to send and receive messages
  • instagram_manage_insights: Access to account insights and analytics

These permissions are granted through Instagram's OAuth 2.0 authorization process and can be revoked at any time.

Withdrawal of Consent

You may withdraw consent at any time by:

  • Disconnecting your Instagram account in our app
  • Revoking permissions through Instagram's app settings
  • Contacting us to request immediate data deletion
  • Terminating your account with us

Withdrawing consent will:

  • Immediately disable all automations
  • Revoke our access to your Instagram account
  • Trigger deletion of your stored data within 30 days
  • Terminate our ability to provide services to your account

9. DO WE COLLECT INFORMATION FROM MINORS?

In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18 years of age .

We do not knowingly collect, solicit data from, or market to children under 18 years of age, nor do we knowingly sell such personal information. By using the Services, you represent that you are at least 18 or that you are the parent or guardian of such a minor and consent to such minor dependent’s use of the Services. If we learn that personal information from users less than 18 years of age has been collected, we will deactivate the account and take reasonable measures to promptly delete such data from our records. 10. WHAT ARE YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS?

In Short: Depending on your state of residence in the US or in some regions, such as Canada , you have rights that allow you greater access to and control over your personal information. However, please note that this will not affect the lawfulness of the processing before its withdrawal nor, when applicable law allows, will it affect the processing of your personal information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.

Opting out of marketing and promotional communications: You can unsubscribe from our marketing and promotional communications at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link in the emails that we send, or by contacting us using the details provided in the section " HOW CAN YOU CONTACT US ABOUT THIS NOTICE? " below. You will then be removed from the marketing lists. Upon your request to terminate your account, we will deactivate or delete your account and information from our active databases. Beta Data Handling

During our beta testing phase:

  • Data handling procedures may be modified as we improve our service
  • Additional logging may be implemented for debugging purposes
  • Service reliability and data protection measures are continuously improved
  • Beta users may experience temporary data processing delays

Beta User Rights

As a beta user, you have the same privacy rights as paying customers:

Transition to Production

When we transition from beta to production:

  • All privacy protections will be maintained or enhanced
  • Users will be notified of any material changes to data handling
  • Additional consent may be required for new features or data processing
  • Beta users will maintain their privacy rights and choices

11. CONTROLS FOR DO-NOT-TRACK FEATURES

Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems and mobile applications include a Do-Not-Track ( "DNT" ) feature or setting you can activate to signal your privacy preference not to have data about your online browsing activities monitored and collected. At this stage, no uniform technology standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals has been finalized . As such, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals or any other mechanism that automatically communicates your choice not to be tracked online. If a standard for online tracking is adopted that we must follow in the future, we will inform you about that practice in a revised version of this Privacy Notice.

California law requires us to let you know how we respond to web browser DNT signals. Because there currently is not an industry or legal standard for recognizing or honoring DNT signals, we do not respond to them at this time.
